FORBES Bulgaria magazine awarded the winners of the FORBES Business Awards 2020.

The competition, which distinguishes the best business practices, socially responsible companies and entrepreneurial spirit, was held on January 28, 2020. Through the business awards FORBES Bulgaria seeks, discovers and honors the champions in free enterprise and draws public attention to their success. This competition encourages entrepreneurship, good business practices and social responsibility, inspires Bulgarians to follow their dreams.

This year, a record 91 applications from 73 Bulgarian companies took part in the competition. - 17 for Startup 2020, 16 for Employer 2020, 10 in Public Responsible Company 2020 and 48 for Company of the Year, where awards were given in the sectors Finance, Education, Agriculture, Information and Communication Technologies, Trade, Production and Services.

The winners were determined by strict and established rules. The application lasted from October 8 to December 10, 2019, and the companies had to answer specific questions about the category in which they applied. Their answers were evaluated with points by an independent jury composed of respected business leaders from different sectors of the economy: Lachezar Bogdanov, Chief Economist at IME; Lyuben Belov, partner in LAUNCHHubVentures; Maria Shishkova, Managing Partner of AIMS Human Capital; Nikolay Garnev, Managing Partner of EY for Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo; Ognyan Donev, majority owner, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of Sopharma and Stanimir Karolev, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Karoll.
